Dolciaria Falcone

(Translation from Italian: Falcone Confectionery)

"Intelligent men, educated in the worship of Beauty, always maintain a certain order, even in the worst depravity. The concept of Beauty is, so to speak, the axis of their inner being, around which all their passions revolve."

Powerful words, terms that resonate well for a man who has practiced philosophy and poetry in all its forms. This passage from Il Piacere by Gabriele D'Annunzio is well-known to the three brothers—Franco, Carlandrea, and Rodolfo Falcone—entrepreneurs and founders of Dolciaria Falcone, a company that has already become a leader in the production of confectioneries and biscuits in Italy since 1997.

It was to the great Gabriele D'Annunzio that the three brothers chose to dedicate the start of their culinary production with a cake named after the famous work of the Vate of early Italian literature. At the core of the company’s philosophy are two ingredients: courage and the will to act, which are essential elements of any successful recipe. As the three brothers emphasize, "It’s not what you do that matters, but how you do it."

The Three Brothers and Beauty

"Once upon a time, three brothers walked along a winding and solitary road at sunset."

Literature and fantasy film enthusiasts will remember this phrase as the opening of one of the most beautiful and significant passages in the final chapter of the Harry Potter saga—the tale of the three brothers and the Deathly Hallows. A story full of pathos and emotion, it closely mirrors the journey of the three brothers—Franco, Carlandrea, and Rodolfo—in their long and "tortuous" quest to establish Dolciaria Falcone.

Born from the purchase of a supermarket chain, the company immediately took charge of the confectionery production world in Italy, despite the initial inexperience of its owners. However, sometimes taking risks pays off, and being bold doesn’t always mean being unprepared.

The quality and dedication that Dolciaria Falcone brings to the plate quickly won the hearts of consumers and introduced a breath of fresh air to the taste landscape of the small Montesilvano in the province of Pescara.

Starting from traditional products to create a more personal and distinctive version: a simple philosophy that forms the basis of Falcone’s business, currently based in Moscufo. A motto that unites many businesses but doesn’t always find the right outlet to showcase the best available products. It is well known that, without a solid foundation, no building, regardless of its brand or production, is destined to last long. This is why Dolciaria Falcone’s extensive assortment relies on a carefully chosen starting point from the very beginning, namely the selection of flours, whether classic or with particular characteristics.

A Vast and Varied Production

Special ingredients with one goal: to transform industrial production into a homemade product, as if it had been mixed and baked directly in our own oven.

American-style cakes and cookies, but especially Italian cantucci and amaretti. Biscuit by biscuit, Dolciaria Falcone has made its way across the country and even abroad, with exports reaching nearly 60 countries worldwide, even touching the distant shores of Japan.

The production of the Falcone brothers' company includes true masters of Italian culinary art and confectionery.

Available on our online store in different flavors, these delicious amaretti and cantucci satisfy all culinary and, above all, sweet cravings. Excellent for accompanying coffee or cappuccino at breakfast or for a light snack in the afternoon, they are also perfect for office breaks, bringing harmony and good cheer to colleagues and superiors. Almonds, chocolate, pistachio, and lemon, cranberry—you have a choice.

Dolciaria Falcone’s offer knows no limits and aims to satisfy all our gastronomic desires.

No one should be deprived of the chance to taste these delightful biscuits and treats. That’s why the Falcone brothers have expanded the assortment with products for those with gluten intolerance. Different composition but similar taste.

The Franco, Carlandrea, and Rodolfo Falcone brothers have thought of everything and everyone, elevating the confectionery company's production to a level that satisfies everyone with the same degree of quality.

Beloved by Soldiers, Writers, and Queens

The cantuccio is a biscuit with roots in the ancient Roman Empire. The "cantellus" was actually a flatbread, a small piece of bread eaten by Roman legionnaires during military campaigns.

Its sweet touch, which led to the current recipe, only appeared in the Middle Ages and later, in the 17th century, at the court of the Medici family of Catherine de' Medici, wife of King Henry II of France. A great lover of gastronomy, she likely invented the inclusion of whole almonds in the dough, elevating the cantuccio as a noble sweet even in the transalpine regions.

Throughout their long history, they have been valued by kings and writers, even being ordered by Herman Hesse, who, during his travels in Italy, never missed the chance to taste them.

Originating in Tuscany, cantucci gradually spread to all other regions of Italy, eventually reaching the Abruzzo region of the Falcone brothers, who have made it one of their flagship products, particularly popular in the United States.

With a more crumbly texture and their own unique character, they have been "demystified" from distant traditions and become true icons of Abruzzo.

Macarons are also featured, exalted by Dolciaria Falcone in their sweet version belonging to the "di Sassello" variant. A crumbly, sweet crust with a tender heart, where the bitter and persistent note of the apricot kernel harmonizes with the sweet flavor of roasted almonds.

On our online store, they are available in pistachio and citrus flavors, as well as in the classic version. They enhance the flavor of every ingredient and the coffee that accompanies them.

Production Care

To be loved and valued over the centuries, one cannot rely solely on ingredients and composition. Production must adhere to high standards at every stage, from ingredient selection to the final touch of packaging.

That’s why Dolciaria Falcone’s cantucci and amaretti are individually wrapped (in 1 kg versions and gift boxes) to preserve freshness and aroma until the final tasting.

On our website, you will find different sizes for almond, pistachio, and citron cantucci, as well as for classic and pistachio macarons. Gift packages in decorated boxes are ideal for giving to friends, loved ones, or for surprising the office.

A Centuries-Old Tradition with a Spirit of Innovation

The Roman Empire, Caterina de' Medici, Herman Hesse, and Gabriele D'Annunzio, not to mention contemporary fantasy legends like Harry Potter. By exploring the history and production of a young company like Dolciaria Falcone, one can traverse different eras and genres. Biscuits, cakes, and treats, as we know, have always been cherished by everyone, regardless of age or social class.

Italian culinary art has always known how to exalt flavors to be loved by all. In today’s world, where globalization seems to have flattened many differences, it is the companies that vary. Dolciaria Falcone understands this and has committed to offering high-quality products for nearly twenty-five years.
