They certainly keep their promise: they're extremely salty! These little bits of licorice each have a creamy filling made from salmiac cream salt (also known as salamonniac) and licorice. They are then generously coated with salmiac powder. The consistency offers a pleasant resistance to chewing, but with a mellow side and on the surface, the salmiac powder adds a slightly 'biting' note. Not surprisingly, the mouthfeel is strongly salty, making Haupt Lakrits "Svenskjävlar" (Swedish bastards) a surprising taste experience that can thrill even the most experienced licorice lover.
