This gold-award-winning espresso is Alessia Alunni’s tribute to her mother, Luigina.
Ricetta Luigina is an espresso coffee made from eight different varieties. The green coffees are sourced from small coffee plantations in Kenya, Brazil, Peru, Nepal, Santo Domingo, and Puerto Rico. This is complemented by fine Robusta beans from India and Cuba.
In particular, the Kaapi Royal Robusta beans from western India give Luigina espresso its wonderful crema and distinctive aromas. They are grown high in the mountains, where they receive particularly high levels of nutrients and minerals. The roastery sources all of its green coffee directly from the coffee farmers.
With Alunni Luigina, discerning espresso drinkers may have found their new favorite coffee – a true Italian bar espresso.
With milk, the full-bodied Luigina makes a perfect pairing. Despite its distinctive profile and intense aromas, it gently caresses the palate. The finish is exceptionally long and intense.
